Gratitude Bestie is a gratitude journal. Your entries have no account requirement and stay on your device, and, if you enable it, in your own private iCloud account. This app is different from some of our other apps in one important way: it shows ads, and those ads involve some data collection described below. Please read this policy in full — we do not sell your personal information, but advertising in this app does involve third parties.
Entries, photos, tags, and emotion tags are stored locally on your device using SwiftData, and, if iCloud is enabled on your device, synced through Apple's CloudKit to your own private iCloud account. We have no server of our own and no access to your journal content — it is never transmitted to us.
Gratitude Bestie uses a Core ML model, running entirely on your device, to suggest an emotion tag for each entry based on its text. This analysis happens locally — your entry text is never sent to a server, to us, or to any third party for this purpose.
Gratitude Bestie shows banner ads through Google's AdMob unless you purchase the one-time "Disable Ads" upgrade. To support this, the app:
Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can review and manage the ATT permission anytime in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
If you use voice dictation to write an entry, audio is processed using Apple's Speech framework, which may perform recognition on-device or by sending audio to Apple's servers depending on your device and language settings. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not by us — we never receive your dictated audio.
Photos you choose to add to an entry are accessed only with your permission (Camera or Photo Library) and stored locally on your device, syncing via iCloud only if you enable it. We do not access your photo library beyond what you explicitly select.
The optional "Disable Ads" purchase ($0.99, one-time, non-consumable) is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We do not use any third-party payment SDK, so no purchase data is shared with anyone but Apple.
Your journal lives on your device and, if enabled, your personal iCloud account. Deleting the app removes local data; removing synced data from iCloud can be done from your device's iCloud storage settings.
Gratitude Bestie is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
